Strategic Enterprise Analysis

Description: More and more companies are looking to their Sr. Business Analysts to analyze and define solutions that will meet the needs of the business and the overall strategic direction of management.  In order to achieve this, Sr. Business Analysts need the ability to understand the organization’s architecture, how to model current and future states, drive process improvement opportunities, perform customer driven analysis, perform stakeholder analysis, determine the return on the investment, define and perform risk analysis, impact analysis, internal vs. external environments/factors, feasibility studies, and create business cases.

The Sr. Business Analyst needs to understand how all of these things relate to the project portfolio and overall programs that are in place to ensure maximum value to the business, determine how investments made tie to strategy, and how teams are resourced and can be utilized.  The Sr. Business Analyst is also being called on to lead large-scale efforts where they must manage and analyze the work of many business analysts for a given initiative or program.  The strategic enterprise analysis performed by the Sr. business analyst will allow them to understand the inter-dependencies, capabilities and overall strategic direction of a program that are vital to ensuring a reduction in rework, improvement of processes and creation, selection and management of solutions that exceed expectations.
