Requirements for Packaged Software
Description: Technology has been moving at the speed of light and as a result, new solutions present themselves every day. COTS (commercial off the shelf), SaaS (software as a service), cloud solutions, and other 3rd party options for many companies have become the norm vs. customized software. Requirements for these new solution approaches are not easier – they are in fact harder! It requires strong analysis and leadership skills to ensure these projects are implemented correctly with the right requirements. This course will help you understand how to elicit and document requirements for these solution options and how they fit into an RFI/RFP/RFQ (request for information, quote & proposal) process. Additionally, you will learn how to select vendors, what to look for in vendor demos, what to be aware of during solution implementation, and the general common mistakes made so that you can prevent and/or fix them when they happen. Packaged software does not have to be hard and you can make it easy for your users once you know what to do.
